THE OLD MAHAKMA OF PACHA
About THE OLD MAHAKMA OF PACHA
Not far from the Royal Palace is the ancient Mahkama of the Pasha. This is the former Muslim court of the Pasha of Casablanca. Completed in 1952, the Hispano-Moorish-style building has more than sixty rooms adorned with carved wood ceilings, stucco, faience tiles and iron grids. The building is a fairly good testimony to the talent of Moroccan craftsmen. Today it is the seat of one of the seven prefectures of the "Grand Casa". To be able to access it you will have to find a guide, you can not enter it alone. Inside, you feel like you are in a Medersa.
