About CASERNE DE DAR RIFFIEN
Dar Riffien is one of the oldest barracks of the Spanish Foreign Legion built between 1923 and 1927, located about 7 km from F'nideq and 20 km from Tetouan. This was the first barracks to have the Legion outside of Ceuta and it is distant from this city of about 10 kms. It was inaugurated in 1920 and the third Duke of Alba settled there. Franco was the first head of the barracks. The attached old picture is of what was the main entrance of the barracks, which can be compared to the one I enclose of its present state.
